McDonald’s Launches Limited-Edition Collectible Cups Inspired by Iconic Memorabilia
August 7, 2024 (Chicago) – McDonald’s has announced the launch of its latest collectible item: a limited-edition series of cups inspired by some of its most iconic past collaborations. Starting August 13, fans around the world will be able to get their hands on these special cups, available in over 30 countries.
These new collectible cups feature designs that pay homage to beloved McDonald’s memorabilia from different eras, including the Grimace Mug from 1976, the Pet Lovin’ Barbie from 1999, and Shrek from 2007. The cups are available in embossed glass or durable tritan plastic, offering a nostalgic trip down memory lane for longtime fans and a chance for newer fans to start their own collection.
“There’s nothing quite like the excitement of finding that one last piece to complete your McDonald’s collection,” said Morgan Flatley, Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of New Business Ventures at McDonald’s. “With these new collectible cups, we’re bringing back some of our most loved designs, giving fans a piece of McDonald’s history they can hold onto.”
The cups are expected to be highly sought after, so fans are encouraged to check the McDonald’s App or visit their local participating McDonald’s restaurants to see which designs are available in their area.

Hi, I’m Daniyal Khan! I’m a writer, tech enthusiast, and a big believer that life’s too short for missed happy hours. I’ve always loved food, and after one too many “chef’s taking a nap” encounters, I decided to take matters into my own hands. My mission is to provide the most accurate and up-to-date restaurant hours possible, so you can focus on the good stuff – the eating (and not the frantic searching for an open restaurant). So, I started Open Hours Guru to share my discoveries and help other food enthusiasts avoid the dreaded “Sorry, we’re closed” sign.
